Services

Root Cause Analysis

Root cause analysis (RCA) and damage investigation. Identify the underlying reasons behind recurring problems, incidents, failures, overloading, inefficient control, or operational disruptions. Specific expertise in blade aero-elastic behaviour, blade manufacturing, leading edge protection and blade ice mitigation systems.

What is the true root cause of failure? I offer an independent third-party review of the OEM’s findings

Technical Due Diligence

An assessment of new concepts and technologies.  The value of any innovation will be assessed with a focus on the implementation phase and the impact on the overall value chain compared to current state of the art. Critical risks will be identified and assessed, and where possible risk mitigation options will be proposed.

Strategic advice helping you to take an informed decision and a calculated risk

Lifetime Extension

Assessment of the technical condition of existing wind farms or wind turbines. The assessment is carried out based on operational data, inspection reports, maintenance records, and/or general inspections.

Is it safe and profitable to continue operation of your asset?

R&D Proposal Support

Drafting, supporting, reviewing or coordination of project proposals. I can help in different stages of the proposal, from early scoping and finding partners to drafting a detailed work packages.  Increasing the chances that your proposal will be selected, while being careful not to over-promise results.

Make your R&D proposal successful

Operational Assessment

Assessment of the overall performance of a wind farm. Analyzing SCADA data and performing field inspections, and verifying whether the assets meet the expectations from the contract. You’ll better understand the behaviour of your assets.

Reducing costs and uncertainties and improving energy performance

Design Support

Design Support Services for wind turbines and wind turbine blades providing technical expertise throughout the design, development, validation and optimization process. I support the development of reliable, efficient, and cost-effective turbine and blade products that meet project requirements, manufacturing requirements, industry standards, and operational performance targets.

Make your project finish successfully on time

Quality Assessment

A review of the quality, value and maturity of a design. After an initial assessment the scope and goal of the documentation review and inspections will be fine-tuned to your needs. The scope of inspections can include wind farm sites, manufacturing plants, transport, assembly and storage areas. The assessment of the design and manufacturing documentation starts with a failure mode analysis and criticality analysis. In a next stage the design, the status of the design verification and product validation and the risk mitigation plan of the critical components will be assessed..

I offer more than a check-box exercise, and identify risks that may escape from standard certification processes

An interactive in-house course “Introduction to Wind Energy Technology

The course content is built on years of delivering training for leading companies worldwide. I’m happy to bring this fully customizable training directly to your organization, tailored to your specific goals and needs. The course explains how wind energy technology has developed over the years, beating the challenges posed by physics. Pros and cons of different concepts and architectures will be explained. Design drivers of key components will be listed. After the course, you’ll understand the technology and physics that has driven the sector towards the products we see in the market. Examples of serial design flaws in commercial products are analyzed and explained. The common root cause of these large quality issues is discussed.

You’ll have a better understanding of the technology, design drivers and physical background. And you’ll learn about quality risks and challenges, and the value of true validation.

Approach

I support organizations in navigating complex technical and strategic challenges in wind energy. By connecting engineering realities with commercial objectives, I help clients make informed, risk-based decisions that stand up in both the boardroom and the field. My approach is proactive, balanced, and grounded in experience. I understand that innovation must be both technically sound and commercially viable. I work closely with clients to:

  • Clarify complex technology challenges

  • Identify opportunities for innovation

  • Reduce and balance technical and financial risk

  • Reduce uncertainty and accelerate development with confidence
